Drawing Tutorial - Different Materials

Description

Here is the first page of my tutorial, sorry that the drawings are a bit rough, but I've delayed it long enough ^__^"

This section is about showing how different types of materials create different types of folds, and how to judge how the folds should be drawn.

Close ups of each drawing:

[link] Hoodie
[link] Leather
[link] Jumper

Firstly:
:bulletorange: For the T-Shirt, the folds occur mostly at the bottom of the T-shirt at the waist as the material drapes down. Some folds also appear on the arms and at the shoulder. The best way to draw this is to make the lines follow the direction of the material as it drapes down, so they kinda make a "U" shape. Obviously it depends how baggy the T-shirt is, so the baggier it is, the more "U"'s :)
The shoulder folds are like "V"'s (Please excuse my lack of imagination when it comes to examples), And the lines start at the armpit and spread outwards.
The best way to understand this is to study pictures, or look at your self in the mirror to see how these folds work.

Secondly:
:bulletblack: The hoodie is very similar to the T-shirt, but just thicker material, which is shown by making the folds thicker. It's hard to explain how to do that ^__^" But if you look at my drawings, hopefully you'll get an idea :)

Next:
:bulletorange: Leather jackets are hard to draw, eventhough they don't have many folds usually. Trying to make the material look stiff and thick like leather is the tricky part, and as you can see I still need a lot of practise ^^;

Lastly:
:bulletblack: Thick cuddly jumpers! Similar to hoodies, but even thicker still :D To get the thick wooly effect, shading is very helpful as less lines means more fuzzy and comfy looking xD.
Try not to make as many straight edges when drawing thick, loose material, as it should flow and be soft.

This is the end of the first page of my tutorial, I have more pages to upload but I'll try and do them a day apart. I've tried to include as much as i can but if you have any questions or need more help them I'm very happy to help anyone ^__^
